A4 Weekly documentation 1

Group agreement document

This week we started looking for our Major Project group in class. Initially, my idea was a dramatic scene where mafia members exchange everyday valuable items like eggs for example, as there has been a shortage of eggs in Melbourne. However, after discussing it with a few people and realising they weren’t very interested, I shifted my focus to finding a group first instead of pitching my idea right away. At the time, I was feeling stressed about securing a group. During conversations, I noticed that many people already had their teams decided before the official discussion period, making it difficult to integrate myself into existing groups. Eventually, I found a smaller group and, following Bradley’s advice, stood near them and joined in. While the process was stressful, I’m glad I ended up with a solid team: Honshen, Bonnie, Hugo, and Jay.

Right now, our group is deciding between two concepts. The first, proposed by Hugo, is a dramatic crime comedy, which initially had everyone’s support. However, things shifted in our second session when two new members—Jackson and Nick—joined the team.

During a Friday group call, Nick pitched a fresh idea: a couples therapy session between Santa and Mrs. Claus, delving into their marital struggles. Santa is perhaps a “workaholic”, while Mrs. Claus dreams of launching her own swimwear brand, only to face constant setbacks because their entire world revolves around snow and winter. The contrast between her summery ambitions and their icy reality adds a fun, satirical layer. The team loved the creativity of Nick’s concept, and Santa is a well-known character by everyone, so we thought it would be easier to create comedy out of him, hence, now we’re evaluating both options, along with any other suggestions to choose the strongest direction for our project in our next group call next week.
