Blog 14 – Synopsis and Logline Revision

On Saturday, Rohan emailed us to revisit our synopsis and update it with the recent one, as now, some groups changed their storyline and their subject’s focus. On our proposal, the synopsis that we wrote was our assumption of our subject. Here’s our previous synopsis that we wrote in our proposal:

Lollie Lovers is one of the confectionery shops at the Queen Victoria Market. In it is where Terri works. Female Willy Wonka tells a story of Terri who works at Lollie Lovers where it is located at Queen Victoria Market. She is a friendly and a kind woman with beautiful short purple hair and bright coloured eye shadows. 25 years ago, Terri decided to be one of the employees at Lollie Lovers, as she appreciates the joyful, colourful and delicious candies since she was a child. She believes that candies could create happiness within people, especially children. Her mindset was built due to the past that she experienced, but what was in her past?

Here’s our Logline:

Inside Melbourne’s iconic Queen Victoria hides a small store dedicated to lollie lovers. Through the eyes of Terri, we see the joy and sweetness lollies bring to people’s lives.

Since we now know more about our subject, we then changed our synopsis, but the logline remain the same. Thus, this is our updated synopsis:

Lollie Lovers is one of the confectionery shops at the Queen Victoria Market. A generous woman with beautiful short purple hair and bright coloured eye shadow, Terri, works there. Confessions of a Confectioner tells a story of Terri’s experience working at the shop and how it brings her back to her childhood memories. She has a joyful and bright personality, which influences her positive actions towards others and her own motto in life. As a result, her optimism is what drives customers to think of her as simply a ‘Female Willy Wonka’.
