The style of my documentary could be mainly in narration. As the character is the sanitation worker, so I might change the former idea about using contrast in the beginning, instead, I might put my recording of sanitation worker at the beginning. But it was still worried me, I will tried both two approaches and see the effects of the visual.

I am sort of be inspired by the film called ‘My Dead Dad’s Porno Tapes’ on canvas.  This documentary recorded the father-son relationship by using old footages, audio recording and stop motion method. For his audio recording part, used photos, lives subtitles and audio background, enhance the engagement between viewers and the documentary itself.  Can’t stay the same for the whole documentary, and be creative to use multiple methods in the documentary are the learnings and thinking after watching Charlie Tyrell’ work.

The new perspective I want to bring to the documentary is calling for people, after watching how’s sanitation worker work with garbage sorting, and take a look at what they used did, change behaviors and attitudes also get to know the importance about garbage sorting. Let’s work together to make the world a better place.

One of problems during creating was the quality of my footages. The main footages about sanitation worker were recorded by handphone, so the resolution was not very high, in that case, I am thinking about to use some filters to recompose the footage. Using narration and background music, to tell the story about the character, also use some subtitles between different footages.  After the sanitation working footage, will put interview by another sanitation worker, based on his perspective to the city’s garbage situation and today’s policy to govern the garbage sorting. The archival footages will be used at the end of the film, to call for actions. Try to using landscape footages to make audience experience the beauty of nature, feeling the expansive grassland, blue ocean. Every scene of nature is treasure, and people should do actions right now, and begin with sorting garbage!
