Part A – thinking about story

For week 7 we learnt about how to create a story and use next assignment as an example to try to come up with a different story about environment. For me, instead of calling it a story I more willing to call it a journey because when people watch or listen my story is going to be a part of my story. It is more like to leading the audience through it and hear and view the story. The journey is letting them take an eye from another way on this plant we living to show them the detail the did not noticed ever in their daily life. “A story is the narrative, or telling, of an event or a series of events, crafted in a way to interest the audience members, whether they are readers, listeners or viewers” (Sheila Curran Bernard 2011, 15)

In the Friday class, I showed my plan to classmates and I think I get a lot of good suggestion there. I was too focused on ‘how my journey impact with the environment and teach people a lesson there’ so it is going like doing an essay. I have to say doing a video essay is not a bad idea but as I said earlier it is a story, it is a journey, we need to ‘hook’ people on the story. In the other side there are too much character on my plan, and I decided to look at the environment we are living in right now from bird’s (dove) side.

Part B – telling a story

Contention Idea

Nowadays, more and more animals are migrated into city and live with city, some member of street animals are not afraid of people and have fun with pedestrian. In the other side, people do not mind share this city with their new friends, but today we are going to look at what is behind that. Think about why they will move their home to city if they still have their home. I am going to analyze human activities and different kind pollution is affecting the animals and produce more street animals. What can we do about that? (still thinking if adding that part)

Hook

When u hear people talk about street animals, do you hate them because street animals ugly, noisy and sometimes they bring diseases because they eat people’s kitchen wastes. Do you love them because street animals friendly and pitiful? We always seen nice people Spontaneous feed street cats or street dogs with dog food or cat food. Have you thought about where they from and why they are here? Let us look at these street animals form different angle and think about that.

Inciting Incident

Have not think much about that, but instead of me telling people what they make the world change for street animals. I am going to show footages and look back at human form street animals’ eyes (dove).

Character

The main character is birds (dove) which is take huge percentage of whole amount of street animals and talk about human impair environment by human activity so that birds (dove) lost their living environments and force them migrate into cities or change their habits. People like to look at the problem from human side, but I try to push the serious problem from animals’ side to make people think about if they are doing the right thing.

Conflict

Nowadays the population growth fast and people net more space for accommodate the living demand for people. So, people destroy forest to build up cities, more and more industries. These human activities make more and more wild animals losing their home and migrate to other place or change their habits.

Change

The character of my journey is birds (dove) which is one of street animal that live peaceful with people, because dove represent peace and freedom. People like them, but it does not mean dove belong to city. They more like prisoner in the city because they lost their live space. In my story, the change should happen in human side instead of animal side. I am going to show some footage of wild doves live in their comfortable environment. Instead of telling people what they did is wrong and what they changed other creatures’ live as a vigilance.
