On Wednesday the 14th of February, Mitchell Waters and I first met Catherine Gough-Brady at RMIT’s Pearson & Murphy’s Cafe. Catherine is a documentarian, and enlisted our help for a project relating to her PhD.
We began the meet-up by talking about ourselves and our work to try and get an idea of what was expected.
We discussed potential themes for her documentary to explore, and designed a rudimentary narrative structure. This initial structure was so basic however, it only existed so we could say it did, which did little to further define our work. The real structure wouldn’t be implemented until about a month later, after our sounds had begun development.
Roles were divided between Waters and I. He would develop the film’s score, while I constructed the worlds sound design and foley, and we would combine our work weeks later and mold them together into a final mix.
