For the next project, my understanding so far is that we have to pick a specific element from our sketches and then develop a further 14 sketches. For 7 of these sketches, the criteria will be set by the tutor, the rest we set for ourselves. Two must explore the concept of non-narrative. One must use an algorithm to ‘select certain assets’. One explores anti-narrative form by through sampling to form relations between parts. One mixes genres of online video. And two explore online video services/tools to explore hybrid form.

Already it sounds a lot more complicated than the last project, and a bit tougher. The set criteria are pretty varied, and could be challenging depending on the element we choose to explore. So far, my are group is really keen to explore parody as an element, but I feel as though this might make things such as exploring non-narrative difficult. Then again, it could actually work quite well, if we are able to push the boundaries of non-narrative in an attempt to explore it better, similar to how we explored the narrative form of our case study for project two through parodying the case study and adding in elements such as character. Perhaps we could draw a lot from this approach, rather than simply creating something non-narrative. I feel that there needs to be a bit more to it anyway, in order to generate sufficient discussion and learn from the sketches. Perhaps parody would be quite a good thing to continue on with.
