Media 3 – Week 1, Studio 2.

So after reading this weeks reading “Revealing the Rich Variety of Being” my understanding of a list is a little more complex. At the end of each reading I try to bring together a general statement based of my understanding of what the reading was trying to say.
Whether it makes any sense or not is another question.
This week I wrote:
We can list things as singularities, but when listed together those singular entities give us a universal breadth of the world in which they exist.”

I fell as though I am on the right track, due to the class discussion surrounding the “gentle knot” that is the comma.
As a group we came to another suitable statement of what the gentle knot actually is:
Allowing a list to be a list… disallowing hierarchy, not giving one item power over another on the list.”

I feel as though mine and the groups general idea of what a list may be are similar, being that a list does not work to give one item more importance over another, but simply describes the world in which the items on the list exist. Rather than give these items a descending order of importance, it gives a circular order, so that each item acts within the same world as each other.
