(Dis)connected

The other week my friend and I ended up bogged in a stranger’s backyard/paddock in Deans Marsh (don’t ask). The problem was that we both had no reception or internet connection on our phones. The whole experience made me realise just how much we rely on inter-connectivity and the ability to communicate with others anywhere we are. When this ability was taken away, I became quite literally stuck. This only exacerbated the issue of being bogged.

We managed to find reception on top of a hill eventually, and were rescued by friends 45 minutes later. The car stayed there overnight and RACV came the next day and got it out. Basically it made me appreciate this connected age, and made me never want to not have reception again.
