The Act of Interrogation

31/07/2013

A film that is quickly becoming an international phenomenon is Joshua Oppenheimer’s The Act of Killing.

In following Anwar through his reenactments of violence, Oppenheimer interrogates his subject in an intriguing way, eliciting a truth that can only be revealed through a direct confrontation with the past, and the creeping, horrific empathy that it entails.

Recommended viewing for Broadcast Media students.

Welcome to Networked Media

27/07/2013

An overhauled course, a speculative curriculum, and an entirely new hosting arrangement for students’ blogs, ensuring that the digital identity that they start producing for themselves expands and endures well beyond the duration and scope of this course. Interesting elements moving towards an exciting outcome. It is important to note, however, that in the case of Networked Media the ingredients only create the conditions necessary for success. It is up to the participants to engage with – and react to – the course and its surrounding discourses.
