PARTICIPATION CONTRACT

1. Write one blog post per week that responds to both the reading and the lecture. The post may summarise, connect, or expand upon the concepts presented in the lecture and reading. The discussion point(s) chosen needn’t be the main discussion point(s) of the lecture or reading. The purpose of this post is to practice connecting ideas in order to gain better conceptual understanding. At least two paragraphs.

2. Blog about one thing per week related to the course that is found through further research, or realised through everyday musings. The purpose of this task is to practice actively seeking further knowledge. The task encourages external thought about concepts and their relationship or application in other areas.

3. Blog about one video of your own from the weekly sketch tasks per week, discussing its strengths and limitations in terms of creativity, technical aesthetics, and fulfilling the brief. The purpose of this task is to practice perceptivity (another “exercise in noticing”) through appreciating and critiquing. At least one paragraph.

4. Respond to one other blog post about the lecture / reading / related concepts per week by either linking to the person’s post or by leaving a comment under their post. The blog post must be from within the realm of Integrated Media One (Media Factory). The response can be brief, and may involve praising the blogger’s ideas, interpreting and expanding upon their ideas, critiquing their viewpoint, or so on.

5. Respond to one other video from the weekly sketch tasks per week by either linking to the person’s post or by leaving a comment under their post. The blog post must be from within the realm of Integrated Media One (Media Factory). The response can be brief, and may involve praising the video’s strengths and/or discussing its limitations in terms of creativity, technical aesthetics, and fulfilling the brief.

This contract begins in Week 3 (when it is ‘signed’).
