Link

Every week we have to link someone else’s blog/tumblr/anything to our own blog.

This is my friend Greta’s blog. She made it in 2012, leading up to finishing school and moving overseas. Her photographs are beautiful and I love reading her stories and thoughts.

Oops… Week Two Reading “What is Creative Commons?”

Even though I did read/watch the week two readings last week, enjoyed them and took notes on them – I forgot to blog about them until now… So here we go.

The Video Magazine about Creative Commons and Copyright Info gave me a well rounded idea about CC and when/where/who uses it. I had never heard of CC before this semester so I found it very interesting that an artist can give permission for others to use their materials whilst following the licence that the artist has chosen. In the video we were given examples about the different types of licences. One licence example is NC which stands for ‘Non Commercial’. The artist gives permission for others to use their work, however if someone prints the work onto a tshirts and gives them to friends, as long as they aren’t selling them and making money, this is fine!

I think that CC is a great way of sharing work and allowing strangers to use your work – as long as the guidelines and licenses are followed correctly!

New Zealand

I just came back from a two and a half week holiday in New Zealand with my boyfriend, John.

We were actually meant to go to Indonesia but when we arrived at the airport John’s passport was declined because it was 6 days under the 6 month validity. We called all the embassies and then started calling airports as well, trying to find a way to get on the plane but to no avail. So… New Zealand was the only place that only had a 3 month validity law so we bought plane tickets to leave that night! It was very spontaneous and completely different to what Indonesia would have been like, but we had an amazing time and were very happy we ended up in NZ.
