I chose this scene because I had a crazy idea on recreating it. It’s a viral clip from American Horror Story’s Sarah Paulson and her amazing acting skills. Growing up, I vividly remember the scene and I find it a scene that I could change into so many ideas. Moving forward from here,I wanted to include some fake blood, some creative angles that stay still yet slowly zooming into the context of what I wanted to focus on. It took awhile to get the right angle I wanted so I managed to find the spot I felt had the best balance and depth into my idea as much as possible. Since it was such an epic legendary line when it came to the voice acting, I definitely think it’s a piece that works within our cinematic genre. The original shot (in the video below) had a different setting when it came to surroundings, like the dark atmosphere and red lights symbolizing danger, but for my visual idea, the plan was to have something brighter, with symbolism of finding light in the darkness. I presume that was somewhat the concept I wanted to achieve, which I believe is cool. A Lot of the work came in setting up the set and the creative ideas we wanted to provide like costumes, props and the lighting. For this project, I had to go to my friend’s place and shoot it over the weekend. We spent nearly 3 hours filming and setting up on it’s own. It was a fun experience that I will be sharing in my video. Despite the clip not being more than 10 seconds, I wanted to include my journey and editing into this 1 minute video, I managed to record some behind the scenes and editing clips to show you how I picked the shots and the equipment my friends and I decided to use on filming this.
