Synopsis
With this video, I liked the idea of using different locations as suggested in the weekly exercise brief. So, I went exploring different atmospheres in different parts of the Melbourne CBD and found that most of the places I went to had the chance of hearing faint sizzling noises from the kitchen and the same goes for Korean BBQ restaurants. So to save myself some time, I decided to film it simply in the comfort of my home. With the sense of smell, I filmed the cooking as an idea of giving the audience the imagination of how the food would smell like when being cooked and also how it would smell after its been cooked.
What worked and what didn’t
This exercise was slightly tougher as I had to try to trim down the length of the video with a few experimental ways, such as, trimming the clip itself, and simply fast-forwarding the clip. With the trimming, it sort of worked for just a small amount of time as the videos were long footages and by trimming them, it was hard to find parts that I wanted to keep in the video itself for the final product. Secondly, fast-forwarding the clips, this method worked perfectly because instead of having the trouble of trimming down the clips to fit the timeframe, I could just fast-forward the clips in order.
