Week 9 Blog: Golden Age Cinema

Week 9

This week marked another step for our short film project, we were to present out group pitch and also assign roles for our production. a major learning this week was how to communicate a cohesive concept clearly to each other and to make sure we had the same narrative and theme in mind and that it was all aligned in order to minimize any mis communications during the next production stages. having the presentation complete has helped solidify the groups direction and gave us the opportunity to refine our storyline through peer and tutor feedback.

we allocated team roles to prepare for filming

Director/production designer: Myself and Nikola

editing: unknown

cinematographer: Amelia Macdonald

Sound design: Pheobe Lawlor

Art Director: Matylda o’sullivan

Later on the weeks i was to also take on extra roles as editor and primary sound designer along side Pheobe.

I also contributed towards the shot list which was essential for pre visualising the film and preparing for an efficient shoot. Thinking about the camera angles, scenes and pacing will help us refine how we can build on tension and guide the audience through the story. Overall this week helped us move from conceptual development into structured pre-production. It will strengthen our team dynamics and creative direction.
