Sponsorships at Melbourne WebFest

Heathcote Gin and SodaSmith were kind enough to supply us with 90L of pre-made cocktails. My artefact shows Heathcote Gin cocktails ready to be consumed by guests at the opening night of Melbourne WebFest, and part of the journey getting it there (not pictured: blood, sweat and tears). Having this sponsorship meant that we could supply our guests with free alcohol for the whole festival! This became a very effective marketing tool to sell tickets for our closing night.

These pictures represent successfully getting all the products from our classroom to The Capitol. This process was an absolute mission, as I underestimated how far away our classroom was. It’s an easy short walk when you aren’t carting 90kgs of alcohol, and a media wall down Swanston St on a Friday at 5pm. We tried gettingUbers but they cancelled on us when they saw a group of 20 somethings with a massive cart of alcohol. We wasted over 40 minutes standing on the streets trying to figure out what to do. Eventually my boyfriend and my brother drove my car to me, we loaded everything back into the boot, and then they drove to Little Collins St, where we met them to unload everything again and cart it into The Capitol. This was a very stressful and very sweaty endeavor.

These photos would not have been possible without the collaboration of the group that helped me transport the goods. I am very grateful for the team that willingly stood around and lifted heavy barrels minutes before we opened the doors.
