Blunder is a short drama that uses a simple game of chess to explore the complicated and now defunct relationship of two past lovers. The game ultimately mirrors the psychology of the characters Blake and Alex and reveals characteristics of either ones personality. The film aims to engage audiences and tell its story through unique camera angles and symbolism.
The development of this film was anything but simple however, through rigorous scrutiny, we were ultimately able to create a short film that uses the teachings of this studio and really aims to put them to the test in showing visual storytelling in a unique and artistic way. We aimed to push this film and the studio to its creative limits and make a film that engages audience and leaves an impact on them through the unique cinematography and story elements we practiced over the semester.
