SENSING CLIMATES PROJECT
PRODUCED BY: Saif Mosafeer, Heaven Palijama, Kunwar Singh, Phoebe Hancox
SYNOPSIS
Emerging multiple ways of attuning to nature, our group wanted to challenge ourselves as makers in exploring our relationship with the environment. Videography, photography, and sound work were combined to create an immersive experience by portraying a divided point of view, one being a disturbed environment from human impact and the other undisturbed. Four split screens create moving visuals of both worlds, pictures help surround the area conveying more meaning, and the sound wraps everything together, making it whole.

WRITTEN PROSE (TYPED)
I left a bag on top of a hill
And wandered down to the lake
Calm cool water Licked at my feet
My life used to be in absolutes
I absolutely would travel
And I absolutely would buy a house
Now I’m not so sure,
And nothing is certain
I submerged myself,
Lake water entering my eyes and nose
It covered me
The sunset across the hill
Casting an orange glow
And the trees turned to rust
A friendly bird
A clever creature he opened up my bag
Undoing it’s zip,
he threw away my scarf
And then he threw my pen
Until he found what he wanted
My salad sandwich
Inside a ziplock bag
Of which he expertly disposed of
Ripping it to shreds and pulling out the bread
Happy and content I wonder if he knew
The damage he had just done
The plastic he had shredded
Or the processed carbs he had stolen
It would surely be his end
