Writer’s Block

It is not uncommon for Maxine to boil a pot of espresso at 4am in the morning.

Maxine Clarke is a Melbourne based writer who  has struggled with writer’s block at many stages of her career. ‘Writer’s Block’ is a short documentary that examines the unseen hours Melbourne creatives dedicate ahead of producing a final art piece. The documentary examines Clarke’s creative process and tells this through the medium of animation. This hand-drawn narrative captures the emotion and struggles of an artist, and how this has been overcome in a creative setting. This short film blends a personal story with an important message for all new and seasoned creatives.
