The Unfortunate Inevitable
The Unfortunate Inevitable takes you on journey of stories shared by Zahra, Nate and Sarah. We explore the unfortunate encounters we have experienced in our life that are unfortunately are unavoidable.
Zahra’s Story – Driving To Learn
My short feature story titled, ‘Driving to Learn’ is a retelling of an experience I had whilst learning to drive. for the majority of my L plate experience, I drove in my own shitty 2010 car, and eventually the day came where it needed its annual service, which meant I’d be driving my mum’s brand new BMW. Controlling a car that held no resemblance mechanically to my own was scary in itself, but add the owner of the car watching you learn in it to the mix and the intimidation and anxiety is next level.
The process of creating and editing my work was really exciting, deciding which story to use and planning my script and the quirks I would add to really make it work was one the most important parts for me as I wanted to create something engaging for the listeners.
The editing post recording whilst boring made me realise how much hard work and passion goes into audio based media, and I’m extremely interested in furthering my learning of audio production
Nate’s Story – A Police Encounter
Teenage years are a weird time in people’s lives. It’s where you get offered new experiences and life choices that seem new fun and innocent. Although Nate’s story shows that without knowing they can have a greater effect than you’d know as you are transitioning from being a kid to a young adult. As nates story takes us through a day with his friends going to a public event and getting caught underaged drinking leading to further punishments than he could imagine.
Sarah’s Story – Dialling Triple Zero
My story “Dialling Triple Zero” takes you back to the time when I had to call the police for the first time. This scary situation all started when a man rocked up at my door asking for petrol. Terrified by the tone of his voice and the car he left in my driveway I called the police. After the police had investigated the car it was found out that he was local robber they had been looking for. Reassuring me that I did the right thing by calling the police.
What I got out of this podcast was an understanding of how the behind the scenes work in the podcasting industry. I learnt the importance of editing within the podcast, as adding just a few sound effects and music made an overall difference within the podcast episode. It’s definitely inspired me to make more in the future.
