Over the last six weeks I have seen astonishing growth from the ten students who took part in this studio.
For some, it’s their “final” project or this studio. For others, it marks the start of exploring new worlds and characters that might continue beyond this class.
In this class, we focused on ways to work with actors for outstanding performances. Students learned script analysis, action techniques, and how to uncover hidden meanings in a script. They also discovered the subtleties known only to the screenwriter and the actor by digging deeper into the layers of a script.
They posted casting briefs, conducted auditions, rehearsals, and improvisations exploring their scenes.
The pinnacle of the course was creating, casting, rehearsing, shooting, and editing their own scenes— the results of which you’ll find on these pages.
Their dedication and drive, their willingness to try new things and to work collaboratively with their actors to bring works they’ve written themselves to life has been inspiring.
Enjoy watching the fruit of their labours!

We respectfully recognise Elders past, present and future. Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
