Will you be quiet?

Ever lived in a share house? Need I say more?

“Will you be quiet?” is a short film produced by collaboration team, Bronte Hall, Irene Rizopoulos, Charlotte Sinnamon & Yaw. Esme is kept up at night by her noisy housemate Irma and friend. This short film is based on Robin Plunkett’s “Esme and the Party People” and shot entirely on an iPhone in the confines of lockdown.

Throughout Designing Drama we have all played the role of director, actor, sound recordist, camera operator, editor and production designer, week in-week out. This has illustrated the immense powers of narrative cinema. Despite the challenges of lockdown, powerful and effective films can be made through experimenting with screen performance, lighting, framing, production design, editing and sound design. It was insatiably fun making an entire piece from scratch, reading a script, envisaging our own decoupage, and producing the final film. I sincerely hope you enjoy.

Major thanks to Robin and our entire class for making Designing Drama an integral part of fuelling our passions for cinema or media making in general.
