Belong To My Body (Dirt Of My Mind)

Can I wear a dress if I identify as a male? What foods can I eat if I am to be socially accepted as a woman? How does it feel to belong in my skin, regardless of my gender?

Gender shapes how we view ourselves and the way we enact with the world. Belong to my Body (Dirt of My Mind) is a collection of works created with the intention of questioning gender roles and providing new perspectives on how we enact our bodies, through expectations of gender. Each video consists of body journey explorations, touching on the impact of both external and internal influences. External elements including; clothing, make-up, and food, and internal elements including; feelings of anxiety, powerlessness, and ‘gender feel’.

When you watch these videos, we invite you to ask: How do imposed notions of gender limit the embodiment of your authentic self?

This collection was designed to be experienced with headphones.
