Summary

Divestment Day is a campaign that aims to bring awareness to the public on the importance of ethically divesting money and give guidance on how to divest. This campaign also focuses on encouraging divestment parties where people come together, enjoy pizza and divest from unethical banks and super funds to then put their money into ethical ones. Essentially, it’s about taking the negative connotations away from the act of divesting and proving how easy, fun and rewarding it can be to divest. Also, it’s about encouraging people to put pressure on unethical bank and superfund corporations to make ethical changes such as refraining from investing in fossil fuels or deforestation as without customers they will struggle to keep their businesses afloat. In the end, it will hopefully have a positive impact on climate change!
