Inspired by the documentary ‘Not just Numbers’ which focuses on the story of the Tangentyere Women’s Family Safety Group, women who work tirelessly to stop domestic violence in remote indigenous communities.

Indigenous cultures have been faced with attempts to disintegrate and destroy their culture. The removal of land, community and identity has escalated violence in these communities.‘Our First Nation’ exemplifies the generational repercussions of colonisation on Indigenous Australians, fore-fronting the hardships these women have to undertake on a daily basis. Encapsulating viewers, positioning them too sympathise with and compassionately respond to these Indigenous Womens struggles. Calling on the audience to use their voice to represent those who don’t have that opportunity.
