Cinzia Ubaldi

I use photography for visual intimacy. An image connects you to its subject. Regardless of whether it be of a person, an object, a landscape…photography at the same time gives its audience both verification and ambiguity. No matter what the image, it has a guaranteed effect on the viewer and I would sum up that my intention when I photograph is to make the viewer feel involved in the moment. What I have learnt in this studio is both the power of the story behind and image and the impact of the technical aspects on an image. Everything in an image has the possibility of being constructed yet sometimes absolutely nothing is constructed and the value of the image remains the same. When I photograph, I use my photographs to share moments and events. I love the rawness of humanity and the less constructed, I’d say the better. I use photography to verify and ignite my memories. I’ve never loved overthought photography, however this studio made me appreciate its complexity. There are no limitations to how you can create a photograph or what you do with it. That is what I love about it as an art form. The lack of rules and endless possibilities.
