FLOSS: On Making It Big

An ambitious, young band tries to ‘make it big’ in an industry oversaturated with young bands trying to ‘make it’.

‘FLOSS: On Making it Big’ is a homage to a band documentary, featuring protagonist young singer Florence Cuming (Floss) and her band mates Charlie Howcroft, Jeremy Phillips and Nick Grifa. The band attempts to ‘make it’ in an industry oversaturated with young bands trying to achieve a smilier goal. The film follows FLOSS in the lead up to their big show at the Gasometer – through rehearsal, pre show preparations and interviews it aims to understand the bands dynamics and their thoughts on success as a musical group. Is success fame and fortune, or playing tunes with your best friends?

Digital Video, archival footage, 5 mins, Australia.
