Off to a great start, now there is plenty we need to get done this session. First up, we need to produce a 1 page brief to deliver to the writing students by the end o the workshop, with enough time to get some feedback from them. The brief should outline our aims, some background information on the sort of ideas we’re looking for, and the intended outputs – in other words, what we want to make.
1) Questions
Surely some (or many) of you will have questions about how the studio will run. Questions are good, lets try to answer them.
2) The Brief
We will work on this together, taking some ideas from Monday’s discussion and fleshing this out into one document. This will be challenging, but a vital initial step to get us started.
3) Assessment Tasks
For info on submitting assessment tasks, go to 5) Google Drive: Folder and Submission Google Doc below
Assessment Task 1: 0%
Scripted shooting and editing exercise – to be completed in week 2 workshop (Wednesday).
Assessment Task 2: 15%
Describe & Analyse, Reflect – We will start working on this in week 2 lectorial (Monday)
Assessment Task 3 & 4 – We have enough to worry about right now, we will discuss these in more detail in the coming weeks
Assessment Task 5: 20%
This task is all about your personal contribution to the studio. You will have heard about this: the ‘weekly updates’ will be part of this task. There will also be a personal reflection that you will submit at the end of semester.
For now, let’s just focus on the weekly updates aspect, and form pairs to work within for this. Our first weekly update needs to be ready by Friday week 2.
4) GOOD FORM – CONTENT Folder
I’ll share this folder on Google Drive with you – I’ll update it with materials throughout the semester.
5) Google Drive: Folder and Submission Google Doc
Please do this before Monday week 2.
If you’re new to Google Drive, very detailed instructions on how to set this up available here
