GO OUT INTO THE WORLD AND DO GREAT THINGS

"When you live alone you no longer know what it is to tell a story" – Jean-Paul Sartre

Author: Daniel Bowden

It is after much personal reflection and vocational consideration that I have reached the point of applying for further study in the field of Media. Throughout my life I have worked across many interlinking creative disciplines, which I feel can all be integrated, supported and developed through the Bachelor of Media & Communication. I like to create contrast in all my work. I also like to employ the absurd in order to heighten an intention and/or an action, as seen in Harold Pinter and Samuel Beckett’s works. From Lajos Egri’s creative writing treatise The Art of Dramatic Writing, I was brought to the conclusion that character is king and nothing can advance without “a clear cut premise”. These are theoretical interests that I would like to pursue in continuing to tell my own stories, whilst also incorporating all that I’ve learnt through life, professional experience and study.
