Walter Murch talks about the Rule of Six. The Rule of Six is a good way to check your editing. The six criteria go in descending order of importance and this rule can be used to justify a cut that you have made but are not sure about it. This is important as these criteria drive the narrative through editing and thus makes the editor chose when to use the invisible cut and when to disrupt the viewer’s attention.
