Munsterberg, H. 1970 The Film: A Psychological Study, Dover Publications, Mineola USA

In his work, Munsterberg suggests film works by externalising the internal mind: “[Film] overcomes the forms of the outer world, namely, space, time, and causality, and by adjusting the events to the forms of the inner world, namely, attention, memory, imagination, and emotion.” (74) Munsterberg discusses the means of photoplay and more psychological motivations behind editing. I did not find this source in-depth enough on the topic matter however it has given an initial basis for research into the psychological framework of editing and how the psyche of the editor or filmmaker can influence the cut.
