In this blogpost, Gabe Moura states the five types of transitions between shots in films: the cut, fading in/out, dissolving, wiping and the iris. Moura uses examples of frames from films and links throughout the text to other blog posts on his blog. As a student, Moura writes credibly as the information is presented succinctly. This article will not be considered any further towards my research on shot-to-shot editing, as its minimalism is restrictive. This blog post is useful to my research however due to the rudimentary depth of theories and practices on the ‘cut’, extensive further research will need to be undertaken.
