Bordwell, D. Narration in the Fiction Film. Madison: University of Wisconsin Press, 1985. Print.

Bordwell explains collision of shots in extensive detail in this text. The text states the term ‘collision’ was borrowed from Eisenstein’s theories and can be used as a method of disturbing the audience. Eisenstein is described as believing that conflict and collision bread change and therefore linking images were ‘inorganic’ and ‘mechanical’.
