Austad, M. Assault on Continuity. 26 Jan. 2009. Web. 24 Mar. 2016.

This report makes a connection between the original works and experiments of Kuleshov, Eisenstein, Pudovkin and Vertov, and the montage works of Hollywood Cinema. Austad suggests the reason Hollywood Cinema is more restricted to emphasising an event rather than progressing it, is because they are more-so “…bound by the rules of continuity in the Classical Hollywood style.” (Austad, 3) In saying this, Austad offers an interesting insight into why the Hollywood Cinema seems to stray from the European style.
