This article introduces two categories of montage, one is narrative montage, the other one is expressive montage. The narrative montage is the most simple and most direct performance of montage. Shots are cut together in a logical or chronological sequence. Its role is to promote the development of the plot from the point of view of drama and psychology. Expressive montage is based on the parallel shots, the purpose is to produce a direct and clear effect through the impact of the conflicts of two images. Therefore, it is not an approach at that time but the purpose.
From this article, I know other kinds of montage. I know how they used in film and what effect they can produce.
