In this journal, Niney askes Pelechian what is the theory montage at a distance based of him. Pelechian mentions that it is on the gap between two shots, rather than on putting two shots together. This theory stem from the contrario of the montage theory of Kuleshov or Eisenstein. The montage of Kuleshov and Eisenstein is putting two shots to give meaning of it, however, Pelechain’s theory is keeping apart shots, delivering their tension and makes them speak to each other across the whole chain of shots that links them. This theory is different with other one, it not obey the classical montage stages, such as exposition, development and end.
