  1. In the mid-1920s, editors still had been hired in a little agency. But, the development of automation helped establish the Classical Hollywood continuity aesthetic. Then, it largely used in the studio. In that period, the uses of negatives made the splice is not so obvious in the screen, so this invisible splice helped the continuity editing be successful and natural. To some extent, this is kind of the origin of continuity editing. In addition, the 180-degree rule, eye-line, match-cuts, match-action cuts both are techniques of continuity editing. And basically, the director and screenwriter will plan these aesthetic techniques in pre-production. Through it, the shots and sequences can be revealed visible in classical continuity editing.
