This article focuses on the Italian film director Pier Paolo Pasolini and how he used sequence-cuts and montage in his films, particularly in relation to the theme of death, and conveying emotions and symbolism attuned to it. The article allows for a very in depth analysis of not only Pasolini’s filmic works, but also his previous writings in regards to his own work. Using shots from Pasolini’s films, as well as detailed descriptions of scenes and sequences through his films, the article provides a strong analysis of the director’s intentions as well as creative and technical implications of his work.
