Offside is not as simple and exciting as I thought it would be, and it’s not 100 percent of the stories that have been put on football and fans. The whole film was full of fun, but heavy. In other words, it is the ultimate reflection on freedom and equality between men and women in Iran. Therefore, the film Offside is an excellent work with social feelings.
The whole idea of the film is very clear, from the beginning to the end of the simple way. Several young female fans also want to see the exciting football match in Iran’s 2005 World Cup qualifier against bahrain. But under Iranian law, Iranian women can’t watch the ball with male fans. They disguise themselves as men and try to infiltrate the court. In fact, many female fans should be successful. But the six women in front of us were so pitiful that they were detained by the soldiers and kept in a small grating outside the stadium. A series of stories have been launched.
As a small cost realistic film, Offside has a little humor, warmth and the craziness of football. It looks like Iran’s football realism, big crazy, every time someone shot ago held their breath, and goals after the carnival, it is easy to see that Iran’s football is crazy. In the grille of the female fans, we can almost understand everyone present, each of them radiating the ordinary light, the lovely light. The soldiers were friendly and had to stick to their duty. The girl was friendly and wanted to see the ball but was afraid that the soldier would eventually return to the bars. Everyone keeps the audience warm and even sweet. The performance of the whole film was so natural that the female fans’ longing for the court and the heroine’s throughout the whole show didn’t reveal their grief and sorrow until the end. There is no acting of any role, which makes the whole film extremely natural and extremely lifelike. And the photography mostly is holding photography, give a person a kind of seeing the sense of record of seeing, added this kind of natural beauty.
In addition, the cause of the story was a football match, but it was ruled that women could not look. In the words of the guards: “this is the law.”
Such rules seem ridiculous to us. Why can’t women watch the ball with men? Why do women want to wrap themselves up when they go out? Iranian men and other men in our country seem to be the same on weekdays, but the “infreedom” and “inequality” of Iranian women are indeed serious. This is why the film offside is so heavy that it puts the story under the question of “freedom and equality”. But luckily, it’s also very exciting and exciting because the whole film focuses on football, which makes the whole world go crazy.
It’s not easy to tell such a story. It has no suspense, no memory, and no space to develop at the same time. The only thing that exists is the game and the female fans outside the stadium. The director was so clever that he wiped out the attention of the game and put all his energy into the field. It also makes the hearts of the audience tight-and want to focus on the game on the floor, and not to turn their eyes away from the girls and the watchers.
The whole movie is immersed in the atmosphere of joy and loveliness, and the girls seem to be working with soldiers, but they are not. The soldiers were helpless, too, and they wanted to see the ball, to go home, and not to lock the girls in the bars. Girls are not in the military, nor are they in the military. But all of them are struggling with unreasonable regulation. The soldier had to fulfill his duty, as the man who wanted to go home and farm said, “this is duty.” Soldiers have to uphold unreasonable rules and regulations to limit women’s freedom. And girls are in order to break through such procedures to the scene to watch, they disguised themselves -, flag cover the face with a towel, posing as boys, even dressed up like soldiers on guard, they struggled but also for like a tomboy Dawson mentioned Japanese female fans sitting in the normal cheer for their national team up. At the micro level, female fans have been forced to do anything to see the ball. On the macro level, this is the collision between Iranian women and institutional oppression. All this is a contradiction that begins with Iran’s unreasonable rules and regulations.
In the film, the story flowing, no time on the jump, lens to follow she came to the stadium, we immediately see is men to cast a strange look at to her, and in opening up the lines: “what are you doing here?”
Seeing this, I can’t help thinking, why can’t a woman come to the court to watch the ball? Why only men? Needless to say, this is the tip of the iceberg of gender inequality in Iran.
Director with football on small story, revealing reflected the serious social problem, push the common feature film has social feelings of outstanding works, this is undoubtedly the most impressive movie “offside”. It can be said that the film “offside” has been thinking about gender equality and freedom of women’s rights and social issues in Iran, and has analyzed the problems from the side. But the most exciting of all is the bright firework of the ending fireworks, which is a wonderful goal of the film “offside” in world cinema. It was a firework that was already burning in Iranian women’s hearts; A call to freedom; Is an appeal for equality; And the treasure of life.
