Keyboard Shortcuts Exercise

From Paul’s mini lecture on editing this morning, here are the three functions I learnt that I think will be really useful for future editing:

1) Expand all tracks (…)

Not technically a keyboard shortcut but still useful. Instead of having to manually drag all the audio tracks down so you can see the line to adjust levels, if there are multiple tracks it’s much easier to click on this option and immediately expand all the tracks.

2) Key frames (Pen tool/control click)

Useful for audio editing, creating key frames so that you can slide the levels around.

3) Applying an effect to an entire sequence

Select all, right click edit, (Opt + Cmd + V) to paste attributes, select effect to apply. Saves you from trying to replicate the same settings for an effect to each individual clip.

From this list, I’ve jotted down shortcuts I think would be useful:

1)Paste attributes – Option + Command + V

1)Ripple Delete – Shift + Forward Delete (Function + Delete)

2)Duplicate – Shift + Command + /

3) Trim edit – T
