Week 6 Workshop: Project Brief 3 Development

In this week’s workshop, we took turns discussing our progress for the next project, and it was interesting to hear the range of people that were the subjects of everyone’s portrait documentary. I have decided to use my friend Aisha who is a first year photography student at Photography Studies College. During the Easter break I filmed some interview footage of her talking about her passion for photography, how she got her start in it as well as what she hopes to achieve in the future. Over the next week I have planned to meet up with her again and capture some extra video to put in to intersect between the interview shots. I’m a bit worried about the quick turnaround for this project and the requirement of needing to include found stock footage, but nevertheless I will knuckle down and try to get it done to the best of my ability.

For the second half of the class, we were sent out to experiment with the Zoom H2N recorders in different environments as practice to get the best sound for our project brief. I was paired up with Grace and we spent a productive 30 minutes or so exploring sound effects in different settings.
