Film Light – Reflection 11

After receiving the feedbacks from our last pitch, Crystal, Karen, Trevor and I decided to only focus on one mood instead of three. We both agreed that we want to do “Horror/Thriller” and we would shoot both indoor and outdoor to include more scenes. I wrote the script for this film and our group members discussed together to make some changes. This film ends with our actress opening her eyes lying on her bed. A filter (and only) was added on this clip as the original one was too bright. The filter made this scene to be more green, giving a creepier sense. This ending can be understood as a girl waking up from her nightmare. Also, it can be her being caught by the man as she is sleeping on the cloth she wears before. The bed is red and the colour red appears when she met the man for the first time.

During the shooting, we wanted to shoot in the same location as we completed our last video, however, we could not get in there as the doors were all closed. We delayed our shooting to the next day. Unfortunately, we tried to get there two hours earlier the next day but still could not get in there. In this case, we had to give up our plan and immediately looking for a new place to shoot. Actually I am not very satisfied with the lighting in the second half of the film (outdoor scene). We could not find the place to plug in the lamp so the whole scene was a bit too dark for me. To somehow fix that, I adjusted the ISO and lens aperture but I felt that some of the details were still missing in the camera. There were some detailed clips that we did not choose to include in the film as the lighting was not good as we think without the artificial lights. There was no sound used from the shooting. All of the sounds were edited after the shooting.
