On Tuesday the 23rd of July we had the first lecture on the subject of Networked Media. Unfortunately during the time of the lecture I happened to be several kilometers up in the air traveling back to Melbourne from Australia’s red center. this was not a calculated attempt to miss out on school work, life just seems to give us a finite amount of hours and sometimes hard choices have to be made as to whee we physically put ourselves. I chose the (during the day) warm desert. It all very well to visit family and exotic locations but our responsibilities have a hard approach to our soft excuses. It’s not that they fall on deaf ears. There are no ears! There isn’t even an entity present to attach these hypothetical ears to! Basically what I’m saying is that its not that there are wrong choices in life, that implies there is somebody looking over your shoulder and keeping an eye on what you’re doing. instead there are just choices. No one will check, No one will care. You are very much alone..

But this isn’t a Shakespearean tragedy. I was through my network of friends and fellow students, able to build up a shaky retelling of the chaotic events that had occurred in the first lecture. A chilling tale of online participation and self direction. I was scared, we all were…
