Reflection #8: Work in Progress

After the pitch and comments, we finally have a clearer direction of planning the platforms and narrative. Basically, deciding the ending first would then be easier for us to plan the content for the narrative so that each character has one goal they need to achieve. The discussion we had with the guest lectures has given us more options to think about the ending. We could have the same ending but from a different perspective from the characters. The audience will then have a difference experience for each of the character if they would like to replay the game. Another option is to have different endings. There could be two extreme different endings. For example, if the Raath wins against humanity what will happen to the humans and vice versa. We could also create different endings that are subtly different. The endings may not necessary be extremely different from one another but instead it will give a different narrative feel that the audience will experience. I think it will be easier to work backwards so that we can see how the narrative and the flow of the game will be like.

So far, it is planned that the audience will work in groups and each member will take on the characters in the Resistance team. This will allow them to share information especially towards the ending where they need all the information to determine the kind of ending they will face. Other than that, I feel that there is a need to revamp the poster especially the tagline and the audio log by making it a bit clearer. Hopefully, by next week we will have the puzzles and narrative planned out.
