Assignment 2- Week 7.

This week, I got a reply back from both Little Print and Scotts Print & Design with costs of producing program booklets for the film festival (screenshots seen below). As much as it’d be nice to get quality printed booklets made:

  1. We do not have the sufficient funds to get these made and would probably be in more of a financial pickle that we already are.
  2. Not entirely sure if it would be worth spending so much money to print 1000 booklets (for example) and when the actual event itself comes, we have less than 1000 guests show up. We’d have a bunch of programs leftover. Yes, there would be leftover memorabilia for us to keep and give away but it’d be a big waste of money at the end of it all.

Since it was the day before Good Friday, not a lot of us turned up for class so we didn’t really get much done or anything really hashed out which I thought was a real shame because I felt like we had some loose ends with getting more social media posts/content out about the fundraiser. Honestly, I think that is our main issue. Like I had mentioned in my week 4 post, in order to gain more of a following on Instagram, there needs to be constant content being pushed out to show that the page is active and using hashtags will attract those who are searching it up on Instagram.

Another issue I personally had is that I feel like there is so much everybody can do that not everybody can do anything for pre-production. I feel like all I have really done is contacted my friend to guest star on her radio show to help promote our fundraiser and get quotes for printing. Hopefully, there will be more roles for other parts and I can actually contribute something towards the pre-production of this festival.
