This film titled “Self-Obliteration”, is screened in New York and telecast in Europe. In an interview she says “In addition to making painting, sculpture, and avant-garde fashion, I made a film called Kusama’s Self-Obliteration. I starred in, directed and produced it, and Jud Yalkut filmed one of my Happenings in Woodstock. I think I staged about 200 Happenings all over the place.”. It has won prizes including the Fourth International Experimental Film Competition in Belgium and the Maryland & Ann Arbor Film Festivals in America.
