Week 7: Initiative: OJ Simpson

Du

ring this week i spent some time watching the Netflix series The People VS. OJ Simpson

To be Honest the case was so famous i already new the whole story line but there were a few things that left a mark on me:

  1. why cast Ross Geller from friends as Robert Kardashian (brilliant actor but type cast and cant move one)
  2. such a LOL when ‘Rob Kardashian’ tells his kids (smaller versions of the Kardashians on the series) that fame isn’t everything.
  3. the idea of bringing in the Kardashian children was stupid and unneeded and was there to try and sell an already sellable series, it made it if anything less creditable.
  4. but MOSTLY the actress Sarah Paulson who plays the real life Prosecutor Marcia Clarke, does an extraordinary job of portraying the hardships that Marcia had to go through when taking on this cas the emotional strain was huge. i had no idea that the fact that Marcia was a woman made such an impact on the way she was being treated in the courts. and outside of the courts she being a professional lawyer was accused of fashion crimes and so many superficial and stupid things that invaded her privacy, like uncovering naked photos of her and making them public during the case. this show was yes about many things, race domestic violence and corruption of money and the LAPD but more than that this was the story of Marcia her journey through such a rough experience that left scars so deep in her life. she is an inspiration to me how she carried herself through such experienced and found a way to be strong in herself even when the whole of America was criticizing her every move.
