Here’a a really short documentary style video I made about Mimo and her choice in fashion. It’s really just her talking about where her clothes have come from/why she owns them, and it’s not very thorough since I really planned to dedicate that shoot to drama, but it gives a little insight and is more informative than me simply taking pictures of each outfit, I believe. We didn’t talk about what she thought the clothes said about her, rather why she had them, and I found it really interesting to hear for instance, that my favourite item – the grey coat – was simply bought because she was cold, whereas the shoes were something she really liked and spent a great deal on (especially when she mentions how inexpensive her other items were – the skirt story is actually quite interesting and something I perhaps should have put some time towards). I like the bit about the dress too. It was nice to hear that she bought it because it reminded her of an 80s teen film (Pretty In Pink) but then strange to hear that she didn’t really like it that much anyway. It worked well as a part of her character though, especially considering I’m meant to be channeling John Hughes here!
