We focused on developing our editing skills in this weeks studio. We went through the shortcuts for editing on Premiere Pro. I am familiar with the in and out point shortcuts (i) and (o), and the (j),(k) and (l) shortcuts and the left and right arrow keys for navigation as I use Premiere Pro for all of my projects at the moment.

The refresher on Premiere was fantastic, as I learnt the shortcut to view the entire sequence (\) and to insert footage (,). This made the editing process even faster. I am a huge fan of shortcuts, and use them in almost everything from text editing to browsing the web. I have experience on both Mac and PC computers so I am familiar most common shortcuts for both machines.

The edit suites are so convenient, and we have access to the media server, where we save our footage, music and project files. We have filmed two exercises so far, one of them was a script about a man with plans to build a rocket, and one featured a Tennis player whose father was her trainer finding out she was pregnant, called The Racket. Although we were missing the vital element (a racket) we managed to improvise and a rough cut of the six shots is below:
