A possible format for presenting various texts would be a website. We have brainstormed some ideas for the presentation of our Project Brief 4. These inspirations include:

Time machine

Zeitmaschine is a virtual time capsule from Switzerland. The site is set up so that users can upload an image, video or audio files and describe certain pop culture artefacts from the past. The site’s layout is similar to a timeline, covering the 1930’s to today. I find this interesting because the website is full of real people telling stories about why they find this artefact special, and describing their connection to the past. The layout of the website is also interesting because of the vast array of different mediums that is displayed.

Humans of New York

Humans of New York is a Facebook page that features ordinary citizens of New York going about their day. It is a virtual snapshot of what is going on each day n New York. Each post features an image of the subject, and a bit of background information of a quote from the subject. I find this interesting because it showcases the humanity of a city, and the documentary style format is easy to engage with. For those that are interested, there is also a Humans of Melbourne Facebook Page.

The Otherside

The Otherside is an interactive website where users can upload their personal ghost stories and share them with the world. The website was released in coordination with the feature film, The Darkside, (Warwick Thornton, 2013) which features ghost stories from Indigenous Australians. I find this website interesting because is creates a soundscape that creates an eerie mood, and the presentation of the audio files containing user content is well thought out and easy to use.
