takecare {out} there Short Film Competition Gathering Steam in the lead-up to Melbourne Fringe Gala Screening
The ALSO Foundation, the peak body for GLBTIQ affairs, invites emerging filmmakers across ALL levels to submit entries for the inaugural Take Care {out} There Short Film Competition.  Films must address or include sexual health and relationship issues to be in with a chance of winning $4500 of prizes and be judged by award-winning directors Tony Ayres and Ana Kokkinos.

Take Care {out} There is modelled on Make A Film, Make A Difference, TAC’s short film competition based around road safety.  The contest is open to anyone with a completed or in-production work that addresses sexual health or relationship issues around sexual health.

1st Prize: $2500 Cash, $1000 of Film Equipment Hire from Open Channel
2nd Prize: $500 Cash, $500 of Film Equipment Hire from Open Channel

The ALSO foundation is looking for films between 30 seconds and 15 minutes.  Be it a shaky, handheld iPhone or a fully produced short film, the emphasis is on the creative delivery of a message.

Creative individuals, community groups and student filmmakers are invited to submit their films to be in with a chance of having their films screened across a range of festivals and a gala screening to be held at Treasury Theatre on Tuesday 4 October as a special event of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
